New Friends arrived! （新しいお友だち☆）

Hello, beautiful!   ハロー、ビューティフル☆

The white one is VERY friendly and the brown one is a little shy.

白い馬はとても人なつこく、茶色の馬はちょっぴりシャイ。

Our new friends arrived last week.

They are 6 horses and 3 mules.

They are beautiful, happy and friendly.

They have been enjoying yummy greens and fields.

先週、ここへ新しいお友だちがやってきました。

６頭の馬と３頭のミュール。（馬とロバの合わせ。日本ではラバっていうのかしら？）

どの馬もよく慣らされていてとてもフレンドリー。

どこまでも広がるやわらかい雑草を毎日存分に楽しんでいます。

Gentle afternoon...

My friend Emilie and I had a Birthday Potluck Party last Monday, 15th. Feb.

It was a beautiful sunny day.

We had a lot of FUN.

職場の友だちのエミリーは私と同じ２月生まれ。それじゃ、一緒にお誕生日をお祝いしましょうか☆ということになり、先週末、家の庭で友だちを招いての持ち寄りパーティーをしました。

心配したお天気でしたが、雲一つない青空が広がり太陽はさんさんと降り注ぎ最高のお天気に恵まれました。２０人ほど集まり楽しい一日を過ごしました。

Making Trail（道なき道に道をつくる）

We went hiking to make a trail to Pyramid Rock. Millennium went to the top a couple days ago. 

He said it looks like close, but is actually lots farther than it looks.

We took some pruners and a machete.

There was NO trail there, so we are going to create it.

We started clearing the trail today.

It was lots work but fun.

He carefully took the way he hiked the other day while clearing the path, with me following behind.

We worked for two hours and got about 1/3 of the way.

We got to the first huge rock area.

We'll work a few more times to take the trail all the way to top.

I can't wait to see it!

今日はミレニアムとハイキングにでかけました。向かったのはピラミッド岩。数日前にミレニアムが道なき道を頂上まで登ったのですが、下から見上げた感じでは２時間ほどで辿り着けそうにみえた頂上は、登っても登ってもその先に次の山が続き結局４時間もかかったとのこと。

今日は”道なき道に道をつくろう”という使命のもと、枝切りばさみや大物のナイフをもって出発しました。雨の少ないこのあたりは山でも高い木はあまりなく、一面に雑草や低木が生い茂っている。いつでも四方を見渡せるので山に迷うことはないところがいい。

ミレニアムが数日前の記憶を頼りに枝を伐ちながら進み、私はそのあとに続き雑木をはらって道をつくっていきました。約２時間ほど登ったところで最初の巨大な岩に辿り着き、今日はここまで。まだまだ頂上までは遠い道のりですが、もう数回に分けて小径を完成させる予定。

完成の日がとても楽しみです☆
